Google ads bill
If you advertise in the Google Ads network then you will receive a neat invoice every month. At least, that's what you assume. After all, your account has been debited again. So there are currently two situations.
- You want to know where to find your Google Ads invoice;
- Or you actually don't want to know where to find the Google Ads invoices because again, it's so high and the results aren't there.

VAT on advertising costs?
Before you find your Google Ads invoice just a little note about VAT on advertising costs. We are not accountants or auditors but what we do know is that Google is based in Ireland and the VAT is reverse charge.
As a Dutch company, you basically pay VAT on Google Ads invoices, but the specific treatment of this VAT depends on how Google handles the billing and whether your company is subject to VAT. We will assume for a moment that you report the Google Ads costs as a company.
The expenses must be posted in your accounting program to an applicable expense account, such as 'Advertising expenses'. In doing so, you apply the VAT code 'Intra-Community acquisition 21%' as reverse charge VAT. This illustrates that you yourself pay 21% VAT on the invoice amount, which you can then reclaim as input tax in your VAT return.
Find Google Ads invoices?
Finding your Google Ads billing can be quite easy. If you log into Google Ads you will find a summary of billing activity and you can find the invoices a specific month. You can find the invoices and tax documents if you follow the following steps:
- Log into Google Ads: Go to the Google Ads website and log in with the account you use for your ads.
- Go to the tools icon: Once you are logged in, look in the upper right corner of the screen for the tools icon. This icon looks like a wrench or cogwheel.
- Choose 'Billing': Click on the tools icon and look for an option called 'Billing', 'Billing and Payments' or something similar. This may be named differently depending on your language settings.
- View billing settings: In the billing section, you'll find several options related to your invoices. Here you can view and edit your payment method, view and download invoices, and set your billing preferences.
- Find your invoices: Within the billing section, there is usually a specific section or tab for "Transactions," "Invoices," or "Invoice History. Here you can view all the invoices that Google Ads has generated for your account.
- Select and download the invoice: Once you see the list of invoices, you can click on a specific invoice to view more details. There is often an option to download the invoice as a PDF or other format.
- Check the invoice details: Make sure you check the details on the invoice, such as the billed period, charges and any tax information.
- Invoice download Google Ads: After you download the invoice, you can print it or save it digitally for your records.
It is important to regularly review your invoices to ensure you understand what you are being billed for and to quickly identify any errors or problems.
